Foundational Processes for an Enduring, Health

Chapter 3 of Successful Marriages and Families

A husband and wife desperately need one another, and even more,we need our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ.

Elder Bednar explained that this triangle demonstrates having a covenant marriage relationship. As we come closer to God and the Savior, we come closer together as husband and wife! How true this is. As my husband strive to cling to our covenants, we feel so uplifted, happy and one with one another and God.

A quote from successful marriages and Families states, "To nurture their cov-enant commitments to one another and God, couples will wisely make a decision to be intentionally and per-sonally dedicated. This involves a commitment to sac-rifice for and organize one’s life around the companion spouse; it also means a willingness to change any and all behaviors and attitudes for the good of the relation-ship. "

I have been obsessed with the word intentionally lately. I have begun to realize how important it is to be intentional while we live the gospel and keep our covenants. I have a personal goal to do as this quote suggests and place my spouse before anything else in my life. What has helped me and my spouse in this regard is attending the temple together.
